Scientific Research

Definition

Excerpts from the CFP Constitution

Preamble

The CFP is concerned that a significant number of Canada's scientific research activities have tended towards self-sustaining programmes with little transparency, and many may not fit our long-term priorities and vision for our nation. We believe that government funded, or government subsidized research, should be reviewed on a regular basis.

The CFP also feels that Canada needs an updated scientific research strategic plan for this century.

As new inventions or discoveries occur, many opportunities emerge that can lead to new companies and even new industries. Canada's political and economic strategies must encourage and support these developments.
